Review background apps without losing essentials

   List what must stay open

   Before testing, list voice chat, accessibility tools, your launcher, input utilities and recording software. Keep security software enabled.

   Inspect startup entries

   Open Settings → Apps → Startup, or the Startup apps section in Task Manager. Record each entry’s original enabled state before deciding whether it is optional.

   Close one optional workload

   Use the app’s own Quit action for the current session. Do not end unfamiliar system processes. If testing a startup change, restart before both comparable captures.

4. 04

   Verify your everyday workflow

   Test your microphone, recording hotkey, controller and accessibility tools. Reopen or re-enable the app if something is missing; record the outcome alongside frame-time results.
